About Us

At SurfEdge Physiotherapy, we believe physiotherapy should be more than just treating injuries. It’s about optimising movement, preventing injuries, and helping you perform at your best.

Whether you’re an athlete chasing peak performance, recovering from injury, or simply want to stay active and pain-free, our goal is to provide expert, evidence-based care tailored to your needs.

With a strong background in sports and performance physiotherapy, our team has worked with athletes at both Australian and international levels, supporting them through high-performance demands, rehabilitation, and competition preparation. Our experience spans across surf lifesaving, endurance sports, team sports, and strength-based disciplines, giving us the insight to help you perform better and recover faster.

No matter your level or sport, we bring the same commitment to helping you move well, stay strong, and recover effectively.

Our Approach

We take the time to get it right. Every new patient begins with a comprehensive initial consultation that allows us to assess your movement, identify the true cause of pain or dysfunction, and design a treatment plan that delivers real, lasting results.

Our treatments combine hands-on therapy, targeted rehabilitation, and performance-based programming, always grounded in the latest research and tailored to your specific goals.

Our Services

  • Sports Injury Rehabilitation – Management of acute and chronic injuries for athletes of all levels.

  • Performance Enhancement – Movement optimisation, strength programming, and injury prevention strategies.

  • Post-Surgical Rehabilitation – Structured, progressive recovery programs to restore mobility and strength.

  • General Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy – Effective treatment for pain, stiffness, and movement limitations.

She has worked with athletes and performers across dance, acrobatics, sailing, softball, marathon running, triathlon, and cricket, giving her a broad understanding of movement and performance under pressure.

Locally, she is proud to support Alexandra Headland SLSC’s competitors to perform at their peak through targeted rehabilitation, injury prevention, and ongoing athlete management.

Kirstie’s approach is built on thorough assessment, hands-on treatment, and progressive strength and conditioning. She believes in accurate diagnosis, personalised care, and empowering every individual to recover stronger and move better for the long term.

Her main clinical interests include lower limb injuries, especially ACL rehabilitation and complex knee recovery. She has completed advanced training in concussion management, dry needling, hip and shoulder rehabilitation, sports vision, brain endurance, and strength and conditioning, and has presented her ACL rehabilitation research at national and international conferences.

Outside the clinic, Kirstie is a familiar face at the surf club and around the coast. She enjoys volunteering, swimming, coastal walks, and spending time on the beach with her family and dog.
