Sports Physiotherapy services by clubbies, for clubbies.
At SurfEdge Sports Physiotherapy, we help surf athletes stay strong, fast, and competition-ready.
Our team currently supports several Iron Series athletes and has provided care at both Australian and World Surf Life Saving Championships. We understand the physical demands of surf lifesaving events including beach sprints, flags, surf ski, board, boats, IRB racing, and Iron events.
We combine expert injury management with performance-focused rehabilitation to help you move better, recover faster, and perform at your peak all season.
Our Commitment
At SurfEdge Physiotherapy, surf lifesaving isn’t just a sport, it’s a community we’re proud to be part of. We work closely with athletes on the sand and in the surf, helping them prepare, perform, and recover through the demands of competition. From Nippers taking their first steps in the sport to elite iron athletes chasing national and international success, our goal is the same: to help every athlete move well, stay strong, and perform with confidence.
Each athlete’s journey with us begins with a comprehensive assessment that explores training load, injury history, and how the body moves under pressure. We use the full suite of VALD performance technology to measure strength, balance, and recovery, providing clear, objective data to guide training and rehabilitation. This helps identify imbalances or weaknesses before they lead to injury and ensures every program is built around the individual athlete and their goals.
When injuries occur, early and accurate intervention makes all the difference. Our rehabilitation programs combine targeted strength and mobility work with functional, surf-specific conditioning to restore movement, power, and confidence. Whether it’s sprinting through soft sand, paddling a board, or pushing through the final stages of an Ironman, our rehab reflects the real demands of surf lifesaving.
Injury prevention is just as important as recovery. We run education sessions, warm-up workshops, and biomechanical screenings to help athletes train smarter and manage load effectively throughout the season. By refining movement patterns both in and out of the surf, we aim to reduce injury risk and improve performance efficiency.
At SurfEdge, our connection to surf lifesaving runs deep. You’ll find us working with athletes at training sessions, local carnivals, and national events – not just in the treatment room. Staying close to the sport allows us to understand the real-world needs of our athletes and continually adapt our care to keep them performing at their best.
