Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

1. Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. You don’t need a referral to see us as a private patient. You can book directly for any physiotherapy service.
Referrals are only required if you’re claiming under:

  • Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plans

  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

  • WorkCover Queensland

  • Third-party insurers (e.g. CTP claims)

If you’re unsure whether you need a referral, feel free to contact us before booking.

2. What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring:

  • Any relevant scans or medical reports (X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, surgical notes)

  • A referral, if you have one

  • Your private health fund card (if claiming on the spot)

  • Comfortable clothing (e.g. shorts, activewear) to allow assessment of the injured area

  • Your sports equipment if relevant (e.g. running shoes, orthotics, paddles)

3. Can I use my private health insurance?
Yes. We have HICAPS on site so you can claim your rebate immediately, and only pay the gap.

Please check with your health fund for details on your extras cover and physiotherapy entitlements.

4. Do you accept Medicare referrals (CDM / EPC plans)?
